Program Information
The Film & Video Production Area of Concentration within Arts and Humanities A.A. is designed for students whose career goals are oriented toward the creative field of film & video production, including motion picture and television production, motion graphics, video marketing, web videos, and short & long form screenwriting. The area of concentration is designed to prepare students to transfer to a four-year institution.
Success in the program is defined by your ability to apply what you’ve learned in real-world scenarios. This program ensures that every student achieves the following core competencies:
- Demonstrate proficiency with current industry standard film and animation production software.
- Produce films and animations showcasing industry standard techniques and skill sets.
- Demonstrate the creative/problem solving process through research, development, and execution of digital media.
- Demonstrate professional behaviors by participating in practical group-oriented assignments.
- Develop skills as critical thinkers, effective problem solvers, and effective ethical communicators.
- Create digital productions that utilize current film and animation production standards appropriate for entry or intermediate level professional work.
- Demonstrate current film and animation production skills, procedures, and techniques in order to function successfully as entry-level employees in a professional production facility.

Student Film Festival
The FCC Student Film Festival is an annual film fest hosted by the Film & Video Production Program. Students who are enrolled or have taken a class in the program have the unique opportunity to screen their work in the festival amongst family, friends, and the community. It’s a night of artistic expression via stories created by our very own students.
