How to Schedule an Advising Appointment
A variety of offices at the College provide academic and personal advising to students and alumni. To get started, follow the steps below.
- Choose the support office listed below that is most relevant to you as a student.
- Click the “Schedule Appointment” button below your chosen support office to start the scheduling process. Appointments will be booked via the Navigate app.
- Questions? Contact us via the Advising Contact Form if you need assistance scheduling your appointment or are unsure which office to schedule with.
Career and Academic Planning Services (CAPS)
Career and Academic Planning Services (CAPS) provides career advising for FCC students and alumni as well as academic and personal advising for students not using the services of another academic advising or support office. Students meet with a career advisor to explore majors and careers, develop resumes and job search strategies, and network with employers and alumni. Students meet with the assigned advisor for their major to review academic requirements, degree plans, and select courses; connect to college resources and services; identify, foresee, and resolves challenges; and assist transfer planning. When scheduling an appointment, select the advisor for your major.
CAPS now provides advising for students previously served by the Adult Services and Multicultural Student Services offices.

Disability Access Services (DAS)
Disability Access Services (DAS) is available to provide both academic advising and coordination of services and accommodations to students with disabilities. Students with documented disabilities, including those who previously had a 504 Plan or IEP, may contact the DAS office at [email protected] or 301-846-2408 to schedule an appointment for academic advising and/or support services and accommodations.

Veteran and Military Services
Veteran and Military Services (VMS) serves veterans, active duty personnel, National Guard and Reserve personnel, and their families. VMS will help you navigate both the military benefit process and the college enrollment process while providing comprehensive academic advising and support services. All new students are required to set up an intake appointment with VMS while continuing students can schedule an academic advising appointment. Questions?
