History Area of Concentration within the A.A in Social Sciences
The History Area of Concentration within the A.A. in Social Sciences prepares students for transfer to a four-year college or university. Students acquire foundations of historical knowledge, evaluate primary and secondary sources, and learn to research, document and analyze the past. Students in this program will use basic research techniques in history.

Students in this program will use basic research techniques in history. Students will learn to research and analyze the past and will evaluate primary and secondary sources and apply and properly cite both types of evidence in their written work.

 

Graduates will create a thesis statement exploring historical issues

Frederick County Public School students are eligible to receive free tuition and fees through Dual Enrollment at FCC for some courses taken during Fall or Spring semesters. FCPS students participating in dual enrollment may obtain required textbooks and materials at the FCC bookstore at no cost to the student. Students should speak with their high school counselor first if they plan to enroll in FCC courses or programs.
