Psychology Area of Concentration within the A.A. in Social Sciences
The Psychology Area of Concentration within the A.A. in Social Sciences teaches skills valued throughout the public and private sector, and prepares students for transfer to a four-year college or university. The Psychology program employs a systemic and critical thinking approach to provide students with knowledge and skills necessary for understanding the origins and dynamics of individual and group behavior.   *This degree can be completed entirely online.

Students are introduced to the major concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, and historical trends in psychology. Students will apply critical thinking to understand and address issues and problems related to human behavior and mental processes.

Frederick County Public School students are eligible to receive free tuition and fees through Dual Enrollment at FCC for some courses taken during Fall or Spring semesters. FCPS students participating in dual enrollment may obtain required textbooks and materials at the FCC bookstore at no cost to the student. Students should speak with their high school counselor first if they plan to enroll in FCC courses or programs.
