Academic Programs, Workforce Training & Real-World Experience

Academic Credit Programs

Credit programs allow students to complete courses along educational pathways to earn an academic degree, certificate, or letter of recognition. frederick.edu/programs

 

Continuing Education & Workforce Development (CEWD)

We deliver affordable and convenient workforce training and lifelong educational programs to students of all ages throughout the year. frederick.edu/quickenroll.

 

Internships & Apprenticeships

Internships help students integrate what is taught in school with what is required in the workplace. Students take internships to develop knowledge and skills valued by employers. frederick.edu/internships

An apprenticeship is an earn-and-learn model that is industry driven and aligned with high-quality career fields. Apprenticeships allow employers to develop and prepare their future workforce through paid work experiences combined with classroom instruction. frederick.edu/apprenticeships

Online Learning

FCC offers over 100 credit courses online each semester. Our online courses give students a convenient, flexible learning experience with the same quality instruction we offer on campus. There are several degree programs that you can complete fully online. frederick.edu/online-learning

 

Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) Program

PLA is the evaluation of prior college-level learning or experience-based learning. Students’ work experiences, workplace training, professional licensure and certifications, military training and service, life experiences, credits earned by standardized testing, and volunteering and community service activities are often evaluated for PLA credit awards. frederick.edu/pla

Paying for College

The Financial Aid Office is here to make higher education more accessible. Our staff is happy to assist students throughout the financial aid process, from the initial submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Maryland State Financial Aid Application (MSFAA), to helping you understand a financial aid award package, or explaining policies and procedures that impact eligibility.. frederick.edu/financial-services

 

FCC Foundation Scholarships

FCC Foundation Scholarships are gifts that do not need to be repaid. The FCC Foundation Scholarship application opens three times per year and is available to all FCC students.

Scholarship Deadlines
Fall: February 1 – August 31 (June 15 is priority deadline)
Spring: October 1 – January 15 (December 31 is priority deadline)
Summer: Summer funds depend on availability of funding.

Career & Academic Planning Services (CAPS)

Academic advisors help students review academic requirements and degree plans, select classes, choose a major or career path, transfer to a four-year college, and connect to college resources and services. frederick.edu/CAPS

Career Services helps students explore careers, prepare for employment, and network with employers and alumni to find jobs and internships. frederick.edu/careers​

 

Disability Access Services (DAS)

DAS assists and supports eligible students with disabilities. Student services may include individualized accommodation plans, transition coaching, as well as workshops and programs. Students should schedule an appointment with DAS staff prior to the start of the semester.  frederick.edu/DAS

 

FCC Live Well

FCC Live Well is committed to holistic well-being, spanning physical, emotional, financial, social, and environmental aspects. Visit the CougarMart and Cougar Pods for basic groceries, personal items, and baby essentials. Counseling & Wellness Services provides short-term solution-focused counseling, crisis intervention, assessment, and referrals to mental health resources. frederick.edu/livewell

 

Student Success Programs

Student Success Programs offer beneficial support services to students who may be experiencing academic challenges, having difficulty adjusting to the college environment, need help making connections to additional college and community resources to holistically support student success. Parents Lead, Project Forward Step are support programs designed for adult students and parents. frederick.edu/student-success

 

Veteran and Military Services (VMS)

VMS offers academic and support services for veterans, active duty personnel, National Guard and Reserve personnel, and their families. FCC participates in a variety of GI Bill® and military tuition payment options.  frederick.edu/vms
