Learning Centers and Tutoring Services
Because of COVID-19, physical access to the Learning Centers is temporarily unavailable. FCC classes will be delivered primarily online to maintain public safety. Face to face instruction and student interactions will only be conducted when it is necessary, required, and feasible to do so in a safe environment. Classes will be offered in online, structured remote, and hybrid learning formats.Comprehensive student resources remain available remotely to deliver College services to students.

Learning Centers Online Tutoring/Academic Coaching: Current students can meet with a friendly FCC learning assistant/tutor or academic coach for free, personalized help with their courses. Our team specializes in helping first year students succeed and thrive in introductory math, science, writing/reading, business, ASL, and Spanish courses. Spring 2021 appointments are available January 25 - May 14, 2021. No sessions will be scheduled or conducted over Spring Break.

ThinkingStorm Online Tutoring via Blackboard: Current students are allotted 15 hours of free online tutoring for many FCC courses, accessible only through the “Online Tutoring” button in Blackboard. Student Success Workshops
Each Student Success Workshop specializes in practical learning strategies and study skills. From reading college textbooks and taking tests to crucial skills like combating testing anxiety, avoiding procrastination, and using excel, the workshops help students develop the foundational skills and knowledge needed to successfully achieve their academic goals.
Online Tutoring Information and Resources
Online Tutoring: Students are allotted 5 hours of online tutoring per semester for many introductory courses, including writing, accounting, math, biology, and chemistry. Students get access by logging in to their course Blackboard site and clicking on “Online Tutoring,” under “Tools.” Powered by ThinkingStorm Online Tutoring.
