Ellis Barber has been appointed to the Frederick Community College Board of Trustees by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan.

Barber was sworn in on June 20 and will fill the seat left vacant when former Trustee Roger Wilson was elected to the City of Frederick Board of Aldermen.

Barber has a strong commitment to higher education and looks forward to enhancing business ethics for future entrepreneurs.

Barber is a longtime Frederick business owner and commercial contractor. In 1983, he started Cindell Construction Co., Inc. Barber started his general contracting company, CCS, Inc. in 1998. He currently serves as president for both companies.

Barber is active in both volunteer positions and professional organizations. He has served on the Board of Directors for Frederick County Bank since 2012 and has also served on the Frederick Memorial Hospital Advisory Board. He is a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) and Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry (AWCI).

Barber has lived in Frederick County with his wife, Cindy, for more than 40 years. They are the proud parents and grandparents of two children and seven grandchildren.
