Starting its third year in September 2011, the Woman to Woman Mentoring Program has expanded the age range from 18-29 to 18-35 for mentees. After receiving expressions of interest from women older than 29 (but still young!), the Advisory Board recognized the need to extend the opportunity for mentoring. Career and personal guidance can certainly be helpful into one's 30s, and mentoring is beneficial through all stages of life. In September 2011, 25 mentee/mentor pairs have been matched for the 2011-12 program year. A record number of women applied for mentors this year as awareness of the program is growing throughout Frederick County. Applications are accepted year-round with a deadline of mid-August. To participate in 2012-13, apply now to give the program coordinator plenty of time to recruit the right mentor to match your needs and interests.
Our Events page lists happenings and programs throughout the year, some of which are open to potential mentees as well as current mentees. Join us as for these occasions to learn more about the opportunity and to meet women already involved.
