Financial Aid Deadlines and Announcements
Summer 2010
NEW THIS YEAR: Students who have already received two full time semesters of Pell Grant for the 2009/10 award year may be eligible for additional Pell Grant for the Summer 2010 semester. Please note, you will need to be registered in at least 6 credits to qualify for this additional Pell Grant.If you have already been awarded a Pell Grant for 2009/2010 and are registering for Summer 2010 classes, please submit a Summer Financial Aid Request form in order determine your eligibility for a Summer Pell Grant.
If you are a new student planning to take Summer 2010 classes, you must fill out the 2009/2010 FAFSA in order to apply for Financial Aid, and then complete the Financial Aid process. May 2010 high school graduates should provide a copy of their diploma to our office.

Fall 2010
| If you have completed your FAFSA and submitted to the FCC financial aid office all requested documents by the College priority deadline of JUNE 1st -- You can expect to receive an award letter listing your financial aid awards for the fall semester. Your financial aid will be referenced against your tuition and fee charges and this will hold your registration. If you decide not to attend, you must officially withdraw from classes. If your financial aid awards are more than your tuition and fee charges, you can use the additional financial aid funds to purchase books in the FCC Bookstore. |
| If you have completed your FAFSA and submitted to the FCC financial aid office all requested documents between June 2nd and June 30th--- If you have not received an award letter prior to July 22, you have the option to sign a Class Reservation Form. The Class Reservation Form must be completed prior to July 29th to hold your registration before the 1st drop for non-payment on August 4th. If you decide not to attend classes, you must officially withdraw from classes. When your financial aid is awarded, if your awards are more than your tuition and fee charges, you can use the additional funds to purchase books in the FCC Bookstore. |
| If you have completed your FAFSA and submitted to the FCC financial aid office all requested documents between July 1st – July 29th---Please note you are applying late – Your file will not be reviewed prior to the start of the semester. When you submit to the FCC financial aid office all requested documents, you can complete a Class Reservation Form to have your class registration held. If you decide not to attend classes, you must officially withdraw from your classes.Class Reservation forms must be turned in prior to July 29th. You also have the option to sign up for a payment plan – additional information can be found online at www.frederick.edu or from the Cashier’s Office. Students who sign up for the payment plan and are then awarded financial aid can contact the Cashier’s Office to request to cancel or adjust the payment plan. |
| After July 29th – You can still apply for financial aid and submit all documents, but you have to use an alternative way to pay your bill---
The college accepts cash, checks, and credit cards. The college also has a payment plan. You can enroll in the payment plan online or in person at the Cashier’s Office. When you are awarded financial aid, you can contact the Cashier’s Office to have your payment plan cancelled or adjusted based on the amount of financial aid awarded and your outstanding balance. |
The 2010/2011 FAFSA is available online at www.FAFSA.gov .The FAFSA has been simplified this year and is much easier to complete.
