Earn a High School Diploma

The state of Maryland offers two diploma options for adults and out-of-school youth:

Option 1: Pass the GED® Test

Take and pass all four sections of the GED® test (Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies) and receive a Maryland high school diploma.

Option 2: Complete the National External Diploma Program® (NEDP)

Earn a traditional high school diploma through the innovative NEDP approach. Qualified participants can work from wherever they have access to a computer. The program is flexible and confidential and can be completed in 6 to 12 months. NEDP allows participants to draw on their life experiences to demonstrate high school level skills.
