Flute Choir will “Travel Around the World” During Upcoming Concert
04/12/2016
Frederick, MD - The Frederick Community College Flute Choir will present a program of music that takes you on a journey as they go “Traveling Around the World” on Thursday, April 14, at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will be directed by Jennifer Rundlett with special guest D.C. Guitar Trio, who will perform a unique blend of classical and flamenco styles.

“The selections for this concert will focus on the musical themes of Western and Eastern European folk traditions,” Flute Choir Director Jennifer Rundlett said. “This concert will help mark our 16th season at FCC and we want to share our success with the public by offering a special Greek inspired reception following the concert.”

Other concert highlights will include Beethoven’s Sixth Symphony Pastoral and Antonin Dvorak’s Slavonic Dances.

Support for this concert as well as future ones will come from the Zinnia Fund, which was recently created after a contribution from an anonymous donor to honor the memory of beloved flute choir member John P. Wilbur.

The concert will be held in the Jack B. Kussmaul Theater on campus and is free and open to the public.
