Frederick Community College faculty members will perform a special concert to honor the lifetime achievements of Dr. Jan Holly, who recently retired after serving in the Music Department for more than 25 years.

“Schubertiade,” part of FCC’s Artist Recital Series, will take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 22 in the Jack B. Kussmaul Theater. It will feature the music of Franz Schubert, a prolific Austrian musician and Dr. Holly’s favorite composer.

“When I started planning this concert, a large number of faculty members expressed a desire to perform in it as a way to show gratitude for all Dr. Holly has done for FCC and our music programs,” said John Wickelgren, Artist Series Coordinator. “This concert will not only showcase the incredible talents of our faculty, it will also show the audience Schubert’s ability to create and reuse melodic material in fantastic ways.”

The concert will feature songs performed by faculty members Dr. Laura Armstrong, Dr. Paula Chipman, Lynn Fleming, Adam Gonzalez, Alice Lee, David Loy, Mary Gresock, Jennifer Rundlett, Dr. Sterling Scroggins, Dr. Maryory Serrano, Dr. John Wickelgren, and Fred Wilcox.

Admission to the concert is free.
