The Frederick Community College (FCC) Foundation will host its popular Clutch the Future Purse Auction on Saturday, March 21, 2015 to benefit FCC students and the Woman to Woman Mentoring Program.

The sixth annual event will take place in the FCC Field House, beginning with a VIP reception at 6 p.m. and auctions from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. with emcee Dina Carole, co-host of the WFRE Free Country Wake-up Crew.

“This unique event offers guests an opportunity to shop for beautiful purses during a fun evening out, all while contributing funds to essential FCC programs,” said Susan Mathurin, Foundation Board Member and Event Co-chairperson. “Many FCC students rely on financial support and mentoring programs to help them succeed, and the funds from this event make it possible for us to continue providing this assistance.”

During the event, more than 200 new and gently-owned top-name purses, including Coach, Michael Kors, and Dooney & Bourke, will be auctioned off during silent and live bidding. Many purses feature bonus items, such as jewelry, accessories, and gift certificates.

In 2014, Clutch the Future contributed $60,000 to the FCC Foundation and the Woman to Woman Mentoring (W2WM) Program, a special program pairing women aged 18 to 35 with mentors for one-on-one personal and professional guidance.

Clutch the Future tickets start at $40 with VIP, half, and full-table purchase levels available.

Purse and gift donations are courtesy of Frederick County community members and business leaders. Donations are being accepted at Frederick Community College in the FCC Foundation office located in A Building, Suite A202, as well as at all five Frederick County Bank locations.

Following the auction, any remaining purses will be donated to community organizations serving women in Frederick County.
