Five FCC Students to Present Business Plans in Contest Sponsored by M&T Bank

On Wednesday, May 21, five Frederick Community College students will compete as finalists in the college’s first Business Plan Contest, presented by M&T Bank. Finalists will present their business plans to a panel of Frederick business and community-leaders from7-9 p.m. in H202/203 in the College’s Classroom/Student Center.
Winners will receive scholarships provided by M&T (1st place- $2,500; 2nd place- $1,500; 3rd place- $1,000).
The five student finalists are:
  • Heather Lofland
  • Tasha Nelson
  • Dennise Gypins
  • Devona Austin
  • Kristin Albert
The judging panel includes:
  • Mark E. Blacksten, Vice President for Business & Professional Banking at M&T Bank
  • Marlene England, Owner of Curious Iguana Books and Dancing Bear Toys & Gifts in Downtown Frederick
  • Dr. Greg Davenport, entrepreneur and a member of the Fort Detrick Alliance
  • Paul Frey, Interim President of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce
  • Nick Damoulakis, Owner of Orases
