FCC Hosting College Representatives for Virtual College Night for High School Students
09/28/2020
Frederick Community College will hold its annual College Night for high school students virtually on Tuesday, October 6, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

This event gives Frederick County high school students the opportunity to hear from representatives from nearby colleges and universities. This year, representatives from FCC, Hood College, Mount St. Mary’s University, Shepherd University, Towson University, and University of Maryland, College Park will participate.

“College Night is for all high school students, whether they plan to attend FCC and then transfer to a four-year college or university, or enroll in a four-year school right after high school,” said Marie Staley, Assistant Director of Admissions. “This has been a popular event for many years, and we are glad to be able to still hold it this year in a virtual format to help college-bound high school students plan for their future.”

As part of the event, FCC provides a College Planning Guide for all participants, which includes:
  • A glossary of college terms
  • Suggested questions to ask to college and university representatives
  • Tips on taking the SAT
  • Information on paying for college
  • Scholarship search services
  • Web resources to help with the college search
  • Tips for transfer students
