FCC Foundation, Inc.

As the name says, Frederick Community College is truly the community’s source for higher education. With 85,551 alumni (former students who have taken credit classes during the College’s 50-year history), it’s safe to say that everyone in Frederick County meets someone from FCC on a regular basis.
The College benefits everyone in our community:

  • by educating high school graduates through the first two years of college,
  • by re-educating adults who need or want to make career changes,
  • by preparing the workforce that creates and maintains our homes, businesses, health care facilities and infrastructures,
  • by providing opportunities for professional development and certifications, and
  • by providing lifelong learning and continuing education.

To make these services possible, FCC relies upon the community to support its efforts to provide accessible and affordable educational opportunity. Support to FCC comes in a variety of ways from a variety of sources.  The College is a tax-assisted institution, not tax-supported.  Therefore, FCC relies on the investments of businesses, organizations, families, and individuals to enable the level of excellence and opportunity that Frederick County citizens need and deserve.
Private contributions:

  • establish scholarships and endowments,
  • provide grants for books, transportation or childcare,
  • help purchase equipment,
  • fund faculty innovation projects, and
  • sponsor faculty and staff professional development opportunities.

The Office of Institutional Advancement oversees support to FCC through fund raising, gifts management, grants solicitation and applications, and performing administrative duties for the FCC Foundation, Inc., and the FCC Alumni Association.
