Interlibrary Loan Service
Books, periodical articles, and other materials that are not available in the FCC Library can be borrowed from other libraries and public institutions in Maryland and throughout the United States.
- FCC students, faculty, and staff may use Interlibrary Loan Service (ILL).
- You can get a request form at the Circulation Desk or you can email or call Dan Fout at 301-846-2446 to request an item from another library. You can also submit an online Interlibrary Loan request. Please give complete information about the item that you want, i.e., author, title, date, and so on.
- Students may request three items at a time. Faculty and staff may request more, as needed.
- Borrowed material (excluding photocopies of articles) must be returned by the due date that is indicated on the item(s). Extension of the due date is sometimes possible, but borrowers must request an extension a week before the material is due.
- An ILL request can take 2-4 weeks for delivery.
- All ILL services are free
Reference Services/Instruction
- The Library has a comprehensive reference and instructional program. Individual reference assistance is available at any time. FCC-affiliated users can also submit an online form, Ask a Reference Librarian, to ask short reference questions.
- Library staff also conduct dozens of training sessions each year on research with library collections, databases, and the Internet. Training opportunities can be arranged for FCC students, staff, and the general public. We have provided a Library Instruction Request form for faculty to complete.
