Jonathan Frias, Head Coach

Hired in February as the Head Coach of FCC’s Men’s Soccer, Jonathan Frias brings varied experience in several areas of the sport.  Currently the Technical Director of the American Soccer Academy in Gaithersburg, Jonathan is responsible for educational and operational aspects of the youth coaching services organization.  He has managed camps and clinics throughout the Mid-Atlantic region as well as overseas.  A 2001 graduate of Radford University, Jonathan was twice selected to the Big South All-Tournament team for a Highlander team that won the conference championship in 1999 and 2000.  He played professionally for the Greenville Lions and Sioux Fall Spitfire of the USL D2 League and the Northern Virginia Rapids, Miami Breakers and Miami Tango of the USL D3 Development League.

Rich Roby, Assistant Coach

Rich Roby joins the FCC Men’s Soccer staff for the 2011 season.  His primary responsibilities will be coaching goalkeepers.  Rich began his professional coaching career in 1986 and holds a USSF “C” License.  His coaching experience includes three years as the Goalcoach for Johns Hopkins University, a Club Coach for Potomac, Bethesda, Olney, Damascus and FC Frederick Soccer Clubs, and Head coach at Damascus High School from 1994-2001.  Among the many players Rich coached are former MLS players Nick Noble of the Chicago Fire and Gary Kane of the Kansas City Wizards.

 

Peter Harangi, Assistant Coach

Peter Harangi is the other newcomer to the FCC Soccer staff. A coach for the Virginia Youth Soccer Association, Peter holds USSF National B and National Youth Licenses. Peter was a member of the Hungarian National U17 and U21 teams and played for Debreceni in the Hungarian Division I for two years. In the U.S, he played for the long Island Roughriders of the A League. He is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association and a Certified Coach with the Positive Coaching Alliance.
