Frederick Community College's men's basketball team has won at least 20 games in four of the past five years. The Cougars play in an extremely talented and competitive JUCO Conference.
The men's basketball program has been under the direction of head coach Dave Miller for the last twelve years. Miller has 38 years of coaching experience, having led Walkersville High School from 1981-1993, where the Lions won two state championships, two state runner- ups, six final four appearances and seven league championships.
Miller has led the Cougars to a 232-146 record, playing in the last twelve Region XX tournaments. His teams have produced five All-Americans and 50 of his 62 sophomores continued their education at four-year schools. Of those 50, 35 played basketball and 25 received full scholarships.
