Financial Aid is typically available to assist eligible students with costs related to college tuition and fees, and can also be used to pay for books, room and board, transportation, and child care expenses.

Application Process

  1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the school year you are planning to attend. The FAFSA can be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. PLEASE NOTE: The School Code for FCC is 002071 (Step 6). You will need specific income information, such as completed tax forms, to complete the FAFSA. If you have questions or need assistance, contact the Federal Processor at 1(800) 433-3243 or the FCC Financial Aid Office at (301) 846-2480. 
  2. Complete the FCC Financial Aid Application and return it to our Financial Aid Office.

  3. Complete the FCC Admissions Application (if you are a new student). In order to receive financial aid, you must be pursuing an approved degree or certificate program at Frederick Community College.

  4. Your FAFSA will be processed in approximately one week (if you apply online) and you will receive a Student Aid Report. If you listed FCC in Step 6 of the FAFSA, we will receive your information electronically.
  5. The Financial Aid Office at FCC will contact you regarding any additional information needed to determine your financial aid eligibility. Please submit requested information by specified deadlines.

  6. A separate application must be completed if you want to apply for Federal Work Study and Student Assistant employment.  Those applications are available on this web site and in the Financial Aid Office.
  7. To apply for Federal Stafford or Federal Parent PLUS loans, complete the appropriate loan paperwork. Forms can be obtained from this web site or the Financial Aid Office. In order to apply for a PLUS or Stafford Loan, you must have completed a FAFSA and submitted required documentation to the financial aid office.
  8. If you are interested in FCC Scholarships, go to the Scholarship section of this web page to access the Scholarship application, which should be submitted electronically.

Recommended Deadlines

If you live in Maryland, it is best to submit the FAFSA prior to March 1st for the coming school year. The next year's FAFSA will be available on January 1st.

** In order to guarantee your financial aid is processed and awarded prior to the payment due date, you must submit all required information by the following dates:
