Upcoming FCC Concerts Feature Wide Range of Jazz Performances
11/20/2015
The sounds of jazz will take over Frederick Community College during the next few weeks with three upcoming concerts.

“There is so much musical talent at FCC, including in our vibrant and thriving music department,” said Music Program Manager Jennifer Rundlett. “Our upcoming jazz concerts feature some unique collaborations that will make them especially memorable events.”

The music will kick off on Thursday, Nov. 19 when the FCC Flute Choir will perform a Charlie Brown Christmas. The group, who will be joined by the Howard Burns Trio, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Christmas classic with this free concert that will include modern and jazz arrangements of traditional favorites.

On Thursday, Dec. 3, the FCC Jazz Ensemble will perform “All that Jazz!” including favorites such as “Misty” and “The Lady is a Tramp.” Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $12 for general admittance and $10 for seniors. Admittance is free for FCC students and staff with ID.

The concerts will continue with the FCC Jazz II Ensemble performing the Great American Songbook on Tuesday, Dec. 8. This free concert will bring to life songs that have become part of the standard jazz repertoire.

All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. in the JBK Theater, located inside the Visual and Performing Arts Center. For more information, visit www.frederick.edu.
