Step Afrika! Comes to FCC Nov. 17

The first professional dance company devoted to stepping, Washington, D.C.’s Step Afrika!, will bring its high-energy performance to Frederick Community College’s Jack B. Kussmaul Theater Saturday, November 17, at 8 p.m. Like a tap dance without shoes, or a band without instruments, Step Afrika! performs percussive dance using kicks, stomps, claps and chants. Each element of their routine is linked to African and modern dance traditions.

All musical and theater performances will be presented in the Jack B. Kussmaul Theater in the FCC Arts and Student Center (F Building). Concerts offered by the FCC Music Program Artists Series featuring various faculty, student, and guest artists are free. Each event listing explains ticket and admission requirements.

Theater box office hours are 6-8 p.m., Monday through Thursday, three weeks prior to most events presented by the JBK Theater. Checks and cash are accepted. The box office opens two hours prior to each performance. Not all organizations that present events in the JBK Theater use the box office as a ticket outlet. Contact information for tickets is listed by event.
