Continuing Education and Workforce Development

Continuing Education and Workforce Development at Frederick Community College encompasses a vibrant selection of programs, from career training and workforce development to information technology, ILR 55+, youth programs and personal enrichment.

While continuing education does not award credits, continuing education students experience affordable, flexible and rewarding programs, as well as industry-recognized training for government licensure and career certification at the state and national level.

Careers & Business:
Courses designed to develop and enhance interpersonal and business skills. Topics include small business, sales & marketing, project management, human resources and more.

Computers & Technology
Basic, intermediate and advanced computer software and information technology offerings range from MS Office and WordPress to Adobe Suite instruction and Apple workshops.

Health Care Careers:
Proven and trusted health care training programs, including CNA/GNA, Dental Assistant and Pharmacy Technician, are designed especially for entry-level careers into the medical industry.

ILR 55+:
Enjoyable and affordable opportunities for mature adults age 55 and over feature arts & music, current events, information technology, history & culture, health & fitness, travel and more.

Personal Enrichment:
Explore personal interests including digital photography, creative arts, seasonal cooking, outdoor adventures and even motorcycle safety to name just a few!

Trades & Industry:
Professional HVAC, electrical or welding training in the construction and building trades industry as well as a variety of Do-It-Yourself courses available in our Monroe Center.

Youth Programs:
Kids on Campus and Homeschool Enrichment programs offer fun and exciting hands-on education focusing on science, creative and culinary arts, information technology and more.

Adult Education:
Offers Adult Basic Education (ABE), General Education Development (GED®) Preparation, External Diploma Program (EDP), Family Literacy and English as a Second Language (ESL).
