16 Hour Sanitation Certification Course
The Culinary & Hospitality Institute at FCC leads the community in providing restaurant and food service with an up-to-date, comprehensive food protection manager training. Throughout the 16-hour Sanitation Certification course our instructors will make the curriculum interesting and de-mystify some of the more complex material. Students can purchase the ServSafe® Essentials textbook with answer sheet from the FCC bookstore. The ServSafe® exam will be given on the last day of class and consists of 90 questions and is administered at the conclusion of the classroom instruction. Students must receive a 75% to pass this test in order to receive their ServSafe Food Safety Certificate. All tests are graded by the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation (NRAEF) and take approximately 14-21 business days to process. Certificate or transcript will be mailed to student upon receipt.
Online course with Proctored Paper & Pencil Testing: (Online Course is available in Spanish through CD-ROM)
The online course is a unique teaching platform which allows for a real-time uninterrupted learning experience by using colorful graphics, animations, full motion video, audio and interactive learning exercises. Online course requires 56K modem and speaker capabilities and is not refundable. The participant will be provided a username/password. All course applicants will be asked to verify that they have completed the online course by bringing their printed certificate of completion to the testing facility. Students can purchase the Online Course Voucher and ServSafe answer sheet from the campus bookstore. Test dates can be obtained by contacting the Testing Center at 301-846-2522.The ServSafe® exam consists of 90 questions. Text-based home study with Proctored Paper & Pencil Testing (For professional food handlers):
This course is recommended only for experienced professionals in the food service industry, as there is no guidance or instructor interface. Students can purchase the ServSafe Essentials textbook with answer sheet from the FCC bookstore. Test dates can be obtained by contacting the Testing Center at 301-846-2522 (additional testing fee is required). The ServSafe® exam consists of 90 questions. Testers must receive a 75% to pass this test and receive their Food Safety Certificate. All tests are graded by the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation (NRAEF) and take approximately 14-21 business days to process. Certificate or transcript will be mailed to student upon receipt.
