Shane Sellers
Art Studio Manager Shane Sellers has been working at Frederick Community College for nine years. Shane first worked as an adjunct faculty member while completing his masters degree in Three Dimensional Studies at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Now a full time employee, Shane teaches pottery classes along with teaching metal working in the sculpture class. His responsibilities also involve overseeing the firing of all kilns and assisting in the management of the art gallery.
Shane has spent a number of years traveling as an artist and has completed residencies as an artist in Florida, Maine and Idaho. He has also traveled to Japan as invited artist with the highly respected International Workshop of Ceramics Art at Tokoname program.
Along with his travels Shane has exhibited both nationally and internationally. Most recently his work has been seen at Chi Contemporary Fine Arts in Brooklyn where Shane had originally exhibited work from Japan in 1999. His exhibit resume also includes showing work at juried exhibitions at the Arlington Arts Center (curator, Debra Diamond, Smithsonian Institute) and at the 2008 NCECA ceramic arts conference in Pittsburgh, PA
