Commitment to Resource Conservation and Waste Reduction |
Goal #9 of the Frederick Community College Strategic Plan is to model environmental responsibility. To that end the following topics address program initiatives relating to resource conservation and waste reduction. All staff, faculty, and students are encouraged to model environmental responsibility by following the guidelines noted below. (See also: Environmental Stewardship at FCC) |
Campus Resource Conservation

Waste & Hazard Reporting
If you see an instance of utility resource waste (e.g. water leak, lights on in vacant rooms all night, doors or windows not closing properly, etc.), please contact the facilities department at 846-2495 or email syoung@frederick.edu. |

Minimize Material Waste
Use material resources sparingly by employing the principles of the paperless office.

Recycling
Use available recycling receptacles for recycling of used and recyclable office materials. |

Hazardous Materials
Carefully manage hazardous materials under your control and be knowledgable of MSDS sheets for your work area.

Transportation
Use public transportation or carpool where possible. |

Community Partners
Take advantage of community partnerships with city, county, and businesses to accomplish conservation programs of mutual interest.

Buy local and materials with recycled content when possible. |
